In 2013, the China National Traditional Orchestra launched a national musical – “Impressions Chinese Music”, which was composed by Jiang Ying, with the famous director Wang Chaoge as the chief director and screenwriter.

In 2007, the China National Traditional Orchestra began to plan and create a Chinese instrumental repertoire that reflects our culture, history and innovation of Chinese national music. As they hoped to contribute to the inheritance of Chinese traditional culture and art, and the awe-inspiring Chinese music, they have cooperated with many Dunhuang scholars, musicologists, and musical instrument manufacturers to study how to reproduce ancient Chinese musical instruments, so the most attractive Chinese music can be heard today.
