It's the only way I can repay you, it's my gift to you. It's titled: "In the Shadow of the Bridge"

I once lived under a bridge
there was a sharp corner, very intimate and cozy
in the abandoned barge, Blondie cooked sausages for me too

But when you're over fifty,
if you're not completely stupid,
you know that there's history
which means that everything passes
and changes sooner or later
and you feel it, especially when
you can't change anymore

Progress isn't what it used to be
they don't want bridges anymore
and so they destroyed mine

The rat I had raised with so much love
got into the hold of a plane
and went to rebuild his life
in Australia

Blondie managed to pay off all the debts
and opened a legal sausage shop
I can stand outside
and smell the scent
This strangely attracts customers
who like to eat in front of someone
who doesn't eat

No, I didn't know how to build bridges
I lived in the shadow of one of them
In a cozy, private corner
I took care of my rat
