Iron Maiden - Wasted Years (Bass Cover)

Description

This is a bass performance... I kept the main bass lines but for the most part I allowed myself free reign, since I'm playing by myself on top of the original track. I recorded it for fun since this bass line is rad!

Some info regarding the recording process:
- video and audio were recorded simultaneously, but the audio track's been mixed and mastered, I had to sync the video footage later
- I used various plugins to make the bass sound more akin to a professional recording, I used CLA Bass, JJP, T-Racks for EQ, Compression, etc. For the very last solo, after the band has already stopped playing, I even added a bit of reverb, delay and chorus to add some "dramatic" feel to the sound.
- I had only practiced a couple of times before recording, I was listenign to the song in my car, got home and felt like recording a session on top of it.

Gear used:
- My Frankenstein bass, I call it the Tamulis Bass - it's basically a Swamp Ash body, Maple fingerboard and neck and Fender Jazz Bass parts (everything on the bass is made by Fender, apart from the previosuly mentioned parts). The pickups are the classic American fender jazz pickups, the vintage series. The bridge is a Leo Quann Badass III.
