Description

This is a short but dramatic piece from the soundtrack to "It Follows", a 2015 horror movie. The original score is all synthesizer music, and it had a powerful effect on building up the tension throughout the movie. Still, the music wasn't enough for me to like the movie very much. But this one piece was stuck playing over and over in my head, until I came across a piano cover totally by chance, and subsequently decided to learn to play it.

There seems to be an emerging trend to use synth scores in dark and mysterious movies and shows in the last two years, such as Mr. Robot or Stranger Things. Although I have never been a fan of the 1980s synth music, there is something strangely appealing about the modern approach to synth music. I'm curious to see whether this trend is going to continue in the coming years.

I tried to be creative in this video in a different way than usual, and I hope you will enjoy it for a change. The video will make more sense for those who have watched "It Follows", but I hope it's still fun for anyone.
