Dear friends,

I am back with the premiere of another study dedicated to me by the great master Sérgio Assad.
In his 24 studies Sérgio brilliantly surveys the Brazilian guitar, as well as paying homage to the most representative composers from Brazil who in one way or another have a connection with the guitar.

Study n.10 "Jacobiana" is an homage to virtuoso mandolin player and composer Jacob do Bandolim. Alluding to Jacob's classic waltzes Santa Morena, and O vôo da Mosca, Sergio's writing captures the virtuosic aspect of Jacob's waltzes while offering moments of lyricism of his own.

Sérgio is a composer of endless creativity, and his studies for guitar are a good example of his command of both the instrument and a variety of styles.

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I do playing this piece.
