In THIS video, check out and learn a KILLER two-chorus tenor sax solo by the legendary Philadelphia jazz tenor saxophonist Larry McKenna. Larry was a true master of jazz tenor sax, especially in the bebop tradition. Larry was a teacher, mentor, and friend of Dr. Selfridge, and he passed away in 2023 after a truly amazing career as Philadelphia's own jazz master.

This particular solo was performed on "Pennies from Heaven" with the incredible jazz vocalist Veronica Swift at Chris' Jazz Cafe in 2020. Larry’s melodic and harmonically rich playing is a perfect example of his bebop artistry.
