This is ‘Jerusalem of Gold’ (ירושלים של זהב) by Naomi Shemer — an informal Israeli anthem and reminder of the strength & resilience of the Jewish people.

3 weeks after this song was released, the six day war broke out, and Jerusalem of Gold quickly turned into a morale-boosting anthem of the IDF.

It echoed through the hearts of both soldiers and civilians, giving hope during one of the most challenging times in Israel’s history.

Today, and for the past 100+ days, we as Jews find ourselves in a world turned upside down. An on-going nightmare, both in and out of Israel. Online and offline. Day in and day out. 100+ days… 💔

And so I hope that this song can bring a little light to your feed. That the voices of Jewish singers in harmony from across the globe can let a glimmer of hope & unity shine through these dark times.

And maybe remind us too, that even in the most trying times, the Jewish people are one - no matter where in the world we are...
