Another one from the archives! This was one of the first clips I ever recorded on the ACB flugelhorn. Thanks to Natalie Colegrove for reaching out and arranging/editing this bite-sized Instagram project!
Joaquin Rodrigo's legendary Concierto de Aranjuez is a piece for solo guitar in three movements. The tragic second movement is famous for featuring in the film "Brassed Off," where the adagio is adapted for flugelhorn and brass band and affectionately referred to as "Concerto Orange Juice." This short excerpt was arranged by Natalie for flugelhorn, two cornets, and two euphoniums. For years this stirring tune has been one of my all-time favorites, and it was lots of fun to collaborate on. Enjoy!
