For a moment, it even looks like he dips into box 3 of B minor pentatonic—so who knows what he’s thinking? Could be a substitute pentatonic, could be instinct/just wanting to throw the 9th in. Either way, the sound is killer. Try experimenting with these ideas in your own licks!
