Judy Collins closes the first half of her January 1991 concert with one of the songs she is most famous for, Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now." According to Judy, she first heard the song in 1967 when Al Kooper called her on the phone at 4:00 a.m., and put Joni on the line to sing her song to Judy. At this time, Joni did not yet have a recording contract, but Judy was putting material together for her seventh album, which would be Wildflowers. Judy's recording of the song became a smash, Top Ten hit, for which she would later win her first Grammy Award. Joni's first album, produced by David Crosby, would be released the next year.
