Hello :)

This is the requested transcription I did of the Bobby Dukes song "Just to be With You" from 1972. I think it was released as a single? I don't know who the bass player on this track was, if anyone does, please let me know and I'll update this description.

I have my suspicions that this is a new song made to sound older. I think this mainly because I couldn't find any information on Bobby Dukes.

This is one of those songs that remind me that the bass guitar is a very rhythmic instrument. Kind of like a drummer or percussionist. This song has that repeating familiar rhythm that I could easily hear some sort of hand drum doing in a drum circle or a percussionist in a band.

The rhythm is a bit tricky, but I think it's a familiar sounding rhythm, and it comes intuitively rather quickly. The challenge might be some of the slight variations, and the tempo. As for tempo, I once heard someone say "to be able to play fast, you need something that you can practice playing fast on" (or something like that :) The point is, find something that fits under your fingers nicely, and is fairly easy to play. This song could be one of those things as the fingering is not too difficult, which allows you to then focus more on the rhythm and getting the tempo up.
