Labor Day Weekend was a fun and memorable one for K-Earth 101 listeners decades ago. Back then in the 1980's, KRTH would showcase their vast music library with huge weekend specials, such as Southern California's #1's over Labor Day Weekend. Presented here is a segment that aired back in 1990. This portion contains the songs that reached #1 in Los Angeles from November 1958 through March 1962 with Joe "Baby" Daniels at the controls.

The special began at 12 noon on Friday with 1955 and ended with the local #1 songs of the 1980's which aired in the earlier editions of this broadcast when KRTH was a contemporary station, before going all oldies. Eventually, by 1986 through 1989, K-Earth ended the special with the chart toppers of 1979. In 1990, it terminated at 1973 and was the last year this aired.
