Kamran Ince (b. 1961) is probably one of the most important composers in Turkey of the 21st Century. His musical style is neoromantic and his interests lie on history, both past and current. Unlike his previous symphonies, which are vast, reflective frescoes of Turkish history, his Fifth Symphony is a “pop” symphony. It was written as an anniversary piece for Galatasaray Football Club, one of the most important football (soccer) teams of Turkey. Its language is immediate, akin to pop sensitivities and highly monumental.

Kamran Ince (n. 1961) es probablemente uno de los compositores más importantes en Turquía del siglo 21. Su estilo musical es neorromántico y sus intereses recaen en la historia tanto del pasado como la presente. A diferencia de sus anteriores sinfonías, las cuales son frescos vastos y recapitulativos de la historia turca, su Quinta Sinfonía nos viene como una sinfonía “pop”. Fue escrita como pieza de aniversario para el Club de Fútbol Galatasaray, uno de los equipos más importantes de Turquía. Su lenguaje es inmediato, próximo a la estética pop y bastante monumental.
