As I continue to transfer and archive my old VHS tapes, I was tickled to find this old TV performance from December 31, 1999 - the night the whole world was preparing for the New Millennium and worried about Y2K!! What makes this tape so special is that my dear friend and accompanist of many years, the late Joe Piscatelle, is in the clip - along with one of my oldest and dearest friends in the music business, Chuck Moses, on bass. We were a very happy jazz trio every weekend for more than 3 years at the historic Fairmount Hotel in San Antonio from 1998 to 2001. Our show on that New Year's Eve many years ago was just phenomenal and the entire hotel was packed - and the Polo Lounge, where we performed, had a waiting list a mile long. It's also the night that my friends Diane and Roy Galvan got married and their nuptials were broadcast live from an upstairs terrace of the hotel. What a special memory - and it is so good to have some clear tape of Joe performing his magic on the keyboard! (This was a live performance on KMOL-TV, Channel 4, now known as WOAI-TV, with former news anchor George Siegel.)
