Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, popularly known as Koffi Olomide, is a prominent Congolese singer, songwriter, dancer, and producer. Born on July 13, 1956, in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Congolese and African popular music of the 20th century.

Koffi's career truly took off in the late 1970s when he joined Papa Wemba's band, Viva la Musica, first as a composer and later as a vocalist. In 1986, he formed his own band, Quartier Latin International, which has been a launching pad for many successful artists like Fally Ipupa and Ferre Gola.

Throughout his nearly five-decade-long career, Olomide has released numerous albums and songs, including over 30 studio albums and 18 live albums. He has received significant recognition for his work, including multiple Kora Awards. In 2002, he made history by winning four Kora Awards in a single night. He was also awarded the Legend Award at the 2021 All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), and in recognition of his contributions, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo appointed him as the country's ambassador of culture, presenting him with a diplomatic passport.
