The Reverend Dennis Kamakahi, one of Hawaii’s greatest and most prolific composers created this mele (musical composition) to the beauty and grandeur of Kokee, overlooking Waimea Valley. Mark Twain once called it “the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.”
Almost always performed as a vocal, here you have my solo acoustic piano version, one of my most requested Hawaiian arrangements ever.
Kokee is truly one of God’s greatest creations, and I hope I take you there in music.
