This is the story of the Exodus when Moses took a stand,
"Let my people go," he said, at God's command.
To Pharaoh's court he brought the word with a rod in his hand,
"Release my people,” Moses said, “free them from Egypt’s land!”

"Let my people go!" says the Lord, through Moses' cry,
Or Egypt will face plagues you can’t deny!
“Let my people go”, says the Lord, “so they can worship Me!”
Our God wants His people to live free!

But Pharaoh wouldn’t listen so God sent 10 different plagues upon the land of Egypt to make him change his mind.

First came the Nile turning into blood: fish died - a crimson flood.
Then frogs everywhere, in beds and pots, Pharaoh promised, but then forgot.
Gnats from dust on all then came - the magicians tried in vain…
“The finger of God” they proclaimed, admitting to Moses’ claim.

You’d think that by now Pharaoh would listen to Moses but wait to see what happens next…

Flies swarm in next, a buzzing dread, then livestock fall - they're dead.
Boils break out on man and beast - but the people still weren’t released
Hail smashed down then locusts leap - nothing green remained
Then darkness covered Egypt’s sky but Pharaoh won’t comply.

"Let my people go!" says the Lord, through Moses' cry,
Or Egypt will face plagues you can’t deny!
“Let my people go”, says the Lord, “so they can worship Me!”

And it’s not over… What’s worse comes next:

The final plague strikes at midnight's chime, firstborns lost, in no time.
And pharaoh's heart finally breaks, "Go," he cries, his kingdom shakes.
No time to lose, no leavened bread
Towards the sea by Moses led…
We are free!
