Description
Track 6 from her self-titled third album released in 1972 copyright Capitol Records. It was recorded at United Western Recorders and The Troubadour nightclub in Hollywood and Muscle Shoals Sound studios in Sheffield, Alabama. It’s considered one of the earliest examples of “country rock.” Before recording the album Linda hired Glenn Frey to put together a touring band for her. The new band with Frey on guitar and background vocals and Don Henley on drums and background vocals was featured on six of the ten tracks on the album including three that were recorded live at The Troubadour in West Hollywood. It received above average reviews but its poor sales resulted in Linda’s decision to leave Capitol Records after releasing her first three albums with them. She would sign with Asylum Records and release “Don’t Cry Now” in 1973 but she was still obligated to record another album for Capitol to fulfill her contract. The album “Heart Like a Wheel” released in 1974 on Capitol would be her breakout album. After this album was completed, Glenn Frey went on to form the Eagles with Henley and session musicians Bernie Leadon on lead guitar and Randy Meisner on bass. Written by Raynard Miner & Carl Smith and produced by John Boylan & Al Coury. I fall to pieces each time I see you again
I fall to pieces, how can I be just your friend?
You want me to act like we've never kissed
You want me to forget, pretend we've never met
And I try and I've tried but I haven't yet
You walk by and I fall to pieces
I fall to pieces each time someone speaks your name
I fall to pieces, time only adds to the flame
You tell me to find someone else to love
Someone who'll love me too, the way you used to do
But each time I go out with someone new
You walk by and I fall to pieces
Well, you walk by and I fall to pieces
