I love Bill Withers very much. To me, he is one of the finest composers and songwriters in Soul. The first time I heard "Harlem," "I Can't Write Lefthanded," and the Menagerie album, I was captured by the complexity of his instruments and the simplicity of his delivery. "Lovely Day" is not only a masterpiece about love, but for me, it is also about my relationship with God. Through my spiritual connection, I've gained confidence, understanding, and peace. I truly believe all of my days will be lovely.

I added a verse/bridge in the song, and give a nod to the incredible Jill Scott for the ending.
Oh, I also had fun playing live the live instruments on this one, particularly the Hammond, percussion, and some of the horns. ;)
