2013 was the first time @stahrmie and me ever collabed (11 years ago!) and it was with Lugia's Song, although the arr. wasn't very well written and the flute only appeared in the final part. Later on, in 2016 I got my Kawai piano and wrote a better flute & piano version for the occasion, I remember being super proud of that video! Dan's flute sounds incredible but after relistening to it, there are several things I would change in my piano part 😵

That brings us to 2024, now that I have a Steinway I was asked in the comments if a Lugia's Song duet re-recording would be possible... after thinking about it I asked Dan and he fortunately loved the idea 🩵 His flute performance is just peeerfect, and he beautifully mixed the whole piece to make it sound this heavenly! ✨

I remember watching this movie in the cinema as a kid and falling in love with this song, there's something really powerful and magical about its timeless melody. Being able to record it again with Dan fills me with joy and pride, I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed playing it! 🥹

🎼 I modified my previous flute + piano arr. and added some of the changes I made for my recent Lugia's Song piano solo version. Mainly, the left hand in the climax now does triplets, which I think works much better than the previous crazy arpeggios.
