Breaking Point by name, breaking point by nature.

The second (and to date, final) Lunatic Calm album was a long time in the making. We wanted to really develop our electronic rock hybrid sound to create a unique sound that was very much our own. In many ways, we succeeded, but when I listen back with the benefit of hindsight I can understand why, as a collection, it's perhaps too diverse for some people.

We'd had a classic 'major label experience' with MCA around the time 'Metropol' was being released, and as a consequence, we parted company with them. Unfortunately, we couldn't do that for several years and the contract extrication process was a long and painful one. It meant a lot of the impetus and momentum was lost, so we buried ourselves in songwriting when we could ... and when we couldn't, I started creating solo projects like Elite Force, pHrack R and Futurecore for my new label, Fused & Bruised Recordings.

A version of the album was ready to release in early 1999.
Then we came back to it and it was ready to release in late 1999.
Then we came back to it and it was ready to release in 2000.

Finally, it saw the light of day on 8th January 2002 but in the week of its release, the label City of Angels that we were signed to collapsed under the weight of a scandal so ludicrous we're still shaking our heads about it 2 decades later.

It was the final straw for the project. We're both extremely proud of what we created ... disappointed that we never got to tour Breaking Point and that it went completely unpromoted and unheard on its release, but really proud of the production quality on this release.
