Mandolin Mondays #217: This week on Mandolin Mondays Carolina Blue resident mandolinist Timmy Jones plays some fire on this original tune with his gorgeous Gilchrist F5 mandolin.

Tim Jones comes from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina where he learned play and love bluegrass from a young age. In 2017, Tim was instrumental in forming the Brevard, NC-based band Carolina blue. Since then, the band has gone on to win many accolades, including several charting songs and several nominations from SPBGMA and IBMA. Here's a word from Timmy about the composition in this video, "This is one of my own numbers. I wanted an old time sounding fiddle number that folks would enjoy dancing to. I spend a lot of my time busting wood in the summertime to prepare for winter, so I figured I’d name it 'Bustin Oak.' I hope everyone will enjoy this original tune."
