Misplaced Childhood was Marillion's 3rd studio album and reached number 1 in the UK album charts. Featuring classics such as Kayleigh, Lavender & Heart Of Lothian, Misplaced was Marillion's first full concept album consisting of two continuous pieces of music on the two sides of a vinyl LP.

Kayleigh was the first single from the album, released on 7 May 1985. This version was performed at the 2015 Marillion Weekend in Port Zelande on the Sunday as part of the "Singles Night" set.

The original album was produced by Chris Kimsey and recorded at Hansa Studios, Berlin.
