After singing "Lonely Road," mgk talked about his friendship with Jelly Roll. mgk said, "This one's for the dreamers, dude. I was in the crowd watching my boy jelly last year. All I wanted to do was be on this stage. Now he's headlining and he brought me out, bro. I love you so much, thank you. Man, it's crazy, you know, this career, so many ups and downs, dude. When you're up, and you're on the charts, you know, you got a lot of seats filled at the table. When you're down, the table is a lot emptier, and during Jelly's hottest year yet, he believed in this song [Lonely Road] and he took a chance on it. I appreciate you for helping us flip a classic for the next generation. I appreciate the country crowd and everyone out here who gives me a chance to come out and sing with y'all. No accolades that we could ever have mean what friendship means, you know what I mean. I just said the word mean
like three times, but you know what I mean."

After that, mgk said, "I'm gonna leave." Jelly Roll said, "Hold on, I can't let you leave. We are standing in front of a sold out Saturday night at the biggest festival in the world." mgk said, "Wait, can we turn the lights on? I'm trying to see." Jelly Roll asked mgk, "So I got a question. Will you play my favorite mgk song before you leave?" And then they proceed to perform "my ex's best friend."

After singing "my ex's best friend," mgk said, "I love y'all. I'm gone. Congratulations Bubba." Jelly Roll said, "This is deeper than a song. This is deeper than a performance. This [mgk] is one of my best friends. I love this human with my soul. Y'all give it up for my brother Colson, mgk. But we call him Kells, baby."
