British-born Harry Roy (1900-1971) was a very popular clarinetist, saxophonist, bandleader and all-round entertainer from the 1920's up to the 1960's.
Having studied music with his brother Sid in their teens, they formed a band and played at some important London dance venues before a lengthy stint at the Café Anglais. Following oversea tours, they returned to England, whereupon the band operated under Harry's name, broadcasting from and playing at the Café Anglais again and also the Mayfair Hotel.
Harry Roy and his various groups made many records that sold well over these years and which continue to be enjoyed in re-issues.

Following the celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the reported revelation that her favourite tune is Cole Porter's "Miss Otis Regrets", it is only fitting that I respectfully upload this version by one of Britain's premier dance bands of the 1930's. It is played and sung somewhat comedically (considering the tragic circumstances of the song) with a great backing by the band.
