My mom passed away in 1998. She had loved this song and played it many times honoring her own mother and told me that she wanted it played at her funeral. I never sang the song myself, as God knows I would have never made it through.

Even though every year on that anniversary day we have always just played the original in tribute to her, I finally garnered the strength and courage to at long last sing my own version, not only to honor her, but also so that I could share it with others in hopes that it will help to heal the hearts of those hurting from the loss of their own moms.

I posted this today, as I truly do know how bittersweet Mother's Day can be when you no longer have your mom with you to celebrate it with.
