In 2018, the Silvertown Auditorium in Athlone, Cape Town, hosted a moving benefit concert in support of Masakhe, the outreach arm of the New Apostolic Church. Among the standout moments of the evening was a heartfelt performance of “I Surrender All,” powerfully rendered by Lauren Solomons.

Written by Judson W. Van DeVenter in 1896, with music composed by Winfield S. Weeden, “I Surrender All” is a timeless hymn of devotion and trust. Its repeated refrain—“All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all”—continues to resonate with believers as a personal expression of surrender to God’s will.

Lauren was accompanied by the Cape Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the New Apostolic Young People’s Choir, conducted by Brandon Phillips. The thoughtful arrangement and sincere performance allowed the message of the hymn to come through with clarity and impact, creating a meaningful moment of worship for all in attendance.
