“Nothing At All” by Kelly Green

This is the third single release from my upcoming album Corner of My Dreams (Aug 22, 2025), dedicated to my late mother.

“Nothing At All” came to me while I was doing dishes and missing my daily calls from my best friend, my mom.

Whenever there was a lull in the day, I would call her just to check in and hear her voice. Often we would talk about nothing. We’d hang out on the phone just to know we were there with each other. That was the type of relationship we had.

When I lost my mother it left a deep void that is impossible to fill. But I always have to remind myself that she’s still with me, just in a different form. I feel that this song wrote itself and the orchestration for string quartet and 4 voices alongside my trio felt inevitable.

Every time we perform this song there is not a dry eye in the room. It breaks down illusion separateness and allows us to feel totally connected with every one in the room. I love it when people come up after a performance, give me a hug, and share with me that they lost a loved one as well. That speaks to the fact that this song relates to people on a universal level.
