A lyric video of O Come, O Come, Emmanuel performed by Margaret Becker from the 1988 compilation album Sparrow Christmas (Sparrow being her record label at the time). It is sometimes known as the 'Christmas Album Version'.
Created for use during an act of worship, and something to reflect upon, rather than to sing along with.
Margaret Becker's version of the famous Hymn is a favourite of many, and appears on YouTube in many places. However none had lyrics - hence I made this video.
The original hymn has a long and complex history, with the original words dating to the 8th Century, but not being put into the form of hymn until probably about the 12th Century. With it being written in Latin, based on older words, there are many different versions, and many different translations. I have tried to represent on screen what she actually sings.
