'O Veisalgia' - the new album by Russell Joslin & High Black Water

'O Veisalgia' will be the fifth studio album by me, London based singer-songwriter Russell Joslin, and an excellent group of carefully-selected musicians named 'High Black Water'. The record is an experimental full band project, 18 months in the making, exploring a range of genres and employing some of the finest players currently based in London - from my fiancée and stunning vocalist Sarah McCaig, who many of you will know, to world renowned horns player Terry Edwards (PJ Harvey, Franz Ferdinand) and Americana Award nominated fiddle player Georgina Leach (Billy Bragg, Seasick Steve). Three singles from the record were released in 2022, now it's time to let the world hear the rest!


The bulk of the recording is complete; exciting and unique live takes of the songs have been laid down in a specialist, analogue tape-based studio in Hackney Wick over the course of 2021-22. The final part of the process - the last overdubs, mixing, mastering and cd/vinyl pressing - will be far more intensive ... and expensive - but this is where the real magic will happen.


The warmth and power generated by the vintage techniques, equipment and materials we've used on this album mean that the record is destined to be heard on vinyl, which will make it my 1st analogue release.


This crowdfunding + preorder campaign is to enable everyone who is interested in the project to support and enable the financially demanding final stages, preorder the record to receive it before everyone else, and be a crucial part of my most ambitious album to date - for ever!


The breakdown
I will be aiming to raise £3000 to cover the final recordings, mixing process, mastering and CD + vinyl production.

CD + vinyl pressing £1500
Any extra money raised above £3000 will help immeasurably with the payment of session players and allow more time in the studio for careful mixing and work on making the record the best it can be.

This is my first IndieGoGo campaign, in 2016 I successfully completed an album crowdfunder on the now defunct Pledge Music. This is my fifth album so you can have no doubt that this record will be made, your valuable contributions will significantly alleviate the financial pressures of the final stages of the recording process and allow me to get the album out to you very soon, rather than much later!
