Description
O-Zone was a Moldovan Eurodance group that gained international fame in the early 2000s, best known for their global hit “Dragostea Din Tei,” often referred to as the “Numa Numa” song. The group was originally formed in 1998 by Dan Bălan in Chișinău, Moldova. Initially a solo project, O-Zone expanded into a trio in 2001 with the addition of Radu Sîrbu and Arsenie Todiraș. Their energetic sound combined Eurodance, pop, and catchy Romanian lyrics, which quickly caught attention in Eastern Europe. The group released several albums, including “Number 1” and “DiscO-Zone,” the latter containing their breakout hit “Dragostea Din Tei,” which topped charts across Europe and became a viral internet phenomenon thanks to the “Numa Numa Dance” video. Despite their massive success, O-Zone disbanded in 2005 at the peak of their popularity, with each member pursuing solo careers in music. Dan Bălan went on to have international hits as a solo artist and producer, while Arsenie rebranded himself as Arsenium and represented Moldova at Eurovision in 2006. O-Zone remains one of the most recognizable pop groups from Eastern Europe, remembered for their infectious melodies, upbeat energy, and one of the most iconic Eurodance songs of the 2000s.
