This show in Bournemouth is a very similar performance to Blackpool with a near identical setlist, though there are some changes tonight. After being debuted at Stoke the previous show (though the odd sources claims it was played in Blackpool) this is the first circulating recording we have of Champagne Supernova live. Being one of their most well-known songs it was played during most of the shows from here onwards, with the only exception being the majority of 2002. Contrary to the album version, after the final mantra of “we were getting high” a jam ensues. Noel hasn’t totally figured out his parts yet on it but Alan slays on it, playing some very impressive fills. In a surprising move, Oasis remove I Am The Walrus in the set. For these next few shows in October, Rock N’ Roll Star would end the show. Rockin’ Chair would be played the following day in Gloucester, then would be dropped for good as it was apparently tough for Liam to sing (though you wouldn’t think it from the recordings we have).

He sounds excellent tonight, though he has some aggro with someone in the audience during Slide Away. Noel also plays really energetically tonight, similarly to some of his best shows in Japan in fact, especially during Round Are Way and Rock N’ Roll Star. Scott comes through loud and clear on many of the songs tonight too, and I think even Noel knew how much more of a competent bass player he was, as on all the shows he plays with the band he’s cranked right up in the mix, and though Guigsy would sometimes get the spotlight depending on the venue, Scott is always heard night after night. The recording sounds great on top of this, and though is slightly sharp adjusting the pitch for me makes it too flat so I have to stick with the original tape speed. Overall it’s a great show with some really quick tempos on a few of the songs, and has been rightly regarded as one of the best 1995 gigs.
