My brother-in-law died suddenly and unexpectedly last week. In reality, he was more of a real brother to me. I don't remember much of my life before he started coming around. We didn't really hang out much anymore the older we got, but for most of my life he was one of my best friends.

Gill showed me the basics of guitar, how to shoot a pistol, and plenty about farming. In fact, my first real job after high school was farming cotton with him.

I don't have a lot of feel-good, emotional stuff to say about Gill because that wasn't our style. It wasn't his style. So I'll say goodbye in the best way I can. Rocking out to a@SkynyrdOfficialtune that I know he loved, and a small tribute to him at the end of this video.

I'd say rest in peace, hoss, but I have a feeling wherever you are, you ain't resting.
