Description
"Ordinary World," a track by the English rock band Duran Duran, was unveiled in December 1992 as the lead single from their self-titled album, often referred to as The Wedding Album (1993). This poignant ballad soared to the top of the US Billboard Top 40/Mainstream chart, the Canadian RPM 100 Hit Tracks chart, and the Italian Singles Chart. Additionally, it secured the third spot on the Billboard Hot 100, while claiming second place in Iceland and Sweden, and sixth place on the UK Singles Chart.
In May 1994, the song earned a nomination for the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. Notably, lead vocalist Simon Le Bon performed "Ordinary World" alongside Luciano Pavarotti at a War Child benefit concert. Even today, the song remains one of Duran Duran's most beloved tracks. As of October 2021, it stood as their second-most streamed song in the UK.
