Description
When it came out at the time, 19 was notable for mixing a heavy dance groove with sampled parts of the ABC TV documentary, Vietnam Requiem, specifically the narration by Peter Thomas. The result was an unusual yet highly noticeable track, which I loved the first time I heard it. 19 became a massive hit for Paul Hardcastle, going to #1 in the UK and many other countries in 1985; in the USA, it went to #1 on the Dance charts and also managed to enter Billboard's Hot 100 chart, peaking at #15.
