Description
Written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Pete Spargo.
The much loved purveyor of Christmas (and, indeed, all) music, Perry Como, was recruited to sing the opening theme to the movie, “The Odessa File”, starring Jon Voight. Perry Como’s earlier Christmus albums had been “Merry Christmas Music” (1957), “Seasons Greetings” (1959) and “The Perry Como Christmas Album” (1958) – all of which were staples on the Christmas album charts.
Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote many musicals, together and separately. “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Cats” and “Evita” being among them.
“The Christmas Dream” charted at #92 on the Hot-100 in December, 1974 – a rarity, as Billboard did not list Christmas songs in the Hot-100 after 1962.
