‘Candy Paint’ was written by Post Malone with his frequent collaborator Louis Bell who also worked on ‘Congratulations’. This track, which peaked at 58 in the US Hot 100, was first recorded for the 2017 film, In the week following the release of the ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys album’ on May 4, 2018, ‘Candy Paint’ returned to the chart at #34 in the US Hot 100.

In the track, Candy paint refers to an automotive finish which is a translucent colour that shines in sunlight, giving it a candy-like texture. It was first created by American car customiser Joe Bailon who conceived the ‘Candy Apple Red’ colour. This eventually led to a full spectrum of candy paint colours.
