Description
Sam Moore, one half of Sam and Dave, passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 89. He was inducted with partner Dave Prater, into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. This video was broadcast on CBS Sunday Morning on Jan. 12, 2025. Moore is shown, in a short clip, performing with Bill Medley at the Songwriters' Hall of Fame Gala (at 6:56). Along with Don and Dewey, Sam and Dave greatly influenced The Righteous Brothers, and they performed some of Sam and Dave’s Stax Records hits, including "Hold On, I'm Comin'," and "Soul Man." Bill Medley also recorded "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" on his 1969 album, "Soft and Soulful." We remember Sam Moore, a great R&B artist, and The Original Soul Man.
