My own creative interpretation of RL BURNSIDE'S Mellow Peaches with additional flavoring for fretted three string cigar box guitar tuned gdg.

RL BURNSIDE'S Mellow Peaches was recorded on August 24, 1967 and released in 1986 on his Hill County Blues album. Originally recorded by Yank Rachelle in 1941 the song has several versions under several different names from Peach Orchard Momma, Peach Tree Blues, to Peach Blues, Mellow Apples and of course, Mellow Peaches. The song has been recorded and reinterpreted throughout the years by various notable blues musicians from Big Joe Williams, Floyd Jones, to Charlie Musselwhite, and most recently was cover by the Black Keys in 2021 on their album Delta Kream. I highly recommend exploring the many different creative variations on this wonderful old tune. This is my humble addition.

Recorded at Morning Mist Cabin and Cottages in Edgewood, IA. My wife and I rented an 1800s log homestead situated on 120 acres of rolling wooded countryside overlooking Wolf Creek in Clayton County. I had a few early morning hours of solitude in front of the fire to sit back and noodle out a few tunes with various woodland critters, distant automobiles eating the backwood highways, the occasional horse drawn Amish buggys, and many many serenading song birds as my primary back up.

It was an incredible getaway at an amazing place. Definitely got my creative juices flowing. Look em up, Morning Mist Cabin and Cottages. Awe inspiring encounter with nature and history at an incredible price. I highly recommend it.
