Description

St Patrick's day is on Monday so here is an Irish folk song Rocky Road to Dublin. Also has some interesting history. Written by a fellow named D. K. Gavan, the song describes the adventures of the main character in the story and he is off to "reap the corn." which means to go seek fortune. Then he gets robbed and goes to find the thief and when he fins him, he's mocked for his accent. Then he goes to Liverpool where he is mocked again for his nationality, but is saved by a group of Irishman. These shanty songs have wacky histories don't they?😂😂
