Description
Willie Dixon wrote "I Just Want to Make Love to You," which was first cut by Muddy Waters in May 1954 under the title "Just Make Love to Me." Its best-known rendition, of course, was Etta James' version that was released November 15, 1960. Since then, it's also been covered by Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones, The Righteous Brothers, Barbara Dane, Ann-Margret, Lou Rawls, Junior Wells, Van Morrison, BB King, Johnny Kidd, Freddie King, Buddy Guy, and Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, just to name a few.
Here's a much, much lesser-known version, this one by Rosko, additionally released by Chess Records in 1963.
I assumed Rosko is New York's WOR-FM and WNEW-FM disc jockey William Roscoe Mercer who broadcast under the alias but haven't been able to find anything to date that fully confirms this.
