It’s been 2 years since I released my last album, Sanctuary. I’ve now finished writing my new album, Vana, and I need your help to get it recorded and released!
I have put a lot of hard work and time into making this album and with your support, I hope to bring this album to life.
In the age of Spotify and other music streaming services, it can be hard to break even on a folk album. Your support is therefore so valuable in the creation of new music in order to keep the tradition alive. Receiving feedback that my music gives joy and solace to people is a big motivation to keep producing new work.
On Vana, I have recruited the Sanctuary Band featuring Steve Byrnes on guitar and drums, James Lindsay on bass, Hamish Napier on keys, Greg Lawson on fiddle and new addition, Paul Towndrow, on sax. The album will also feature guests including Damien O’Kane on banjo, Malcolm Jones on electric guitar, Steve Cooney on guitar, Cormac Byrne on percussion, Soumik Datta on sarod, John Wilson on canntaireachd, Duncan Chisholm on fiddle and a few more to be confirmed.
I’m very happy with how the music has turned out and like Sanctuary, it will be a journey album so nae skipping tracks!
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to letting you hear it!
COSTS
Albums don’t come cheap and in order for the music to get the treatment it deserves I’ll be recording at GloWorm studios with Andrea Gobbi. It's your support and kindness that will help make that happen!
The album is going to cost around £12,000 and I’m looking for £8,000 to help out.
Here’s a rough break down of costs:
Studio and Engineer - £5,000
Musicians - £4,000
Mastering and Design - £1,000
CD Pressing - £1,000
PR - £1,000
I would be extremely grateful if you could pre order the album but if you're feeling even more generous, there’s a list of different perks that you might be interested in!
Music has always been my go to for getting things off my chest. I love to make music that means something and in turn, can help people through life’s struggles. I truly believe music is a healer!
