According to the passing stories of mor ting tauw (players of 2-string instrument made from dried gourd), sae Tai (Tai dance) was originated from Muong So, Phong Tho, Lai Chau, Vietnam. And over the years, the dance then had spread to other Tai villages and towns. Sao sae (the dancers) had created and practiced many types of dances to entertain their audience. Sae vorng, Tai circle dance, has been popular and enjoyed by many Tai people. Just like the circle, sae vorng became a unity symbol for all Tai generations.
