Description
Scandal first came on the scene in 1982 with the bubbly pop number, "Goodbye To You", which went to #65 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their biggest hit single came in 1984 with the Mike Chapman-produced pop rocker, "The Warrior". The song was penned by Holly Knight and Nick Gilder, whom both had musical connections with Chapman. The song was a Top 10 smash, peaking at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, #5 on the Cash Box Top 100, and making it to #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. This is the single 45 release, which runs 28 seconds shorter than the original album version. On a side note, the two other singles off the"Warrior" album, "Hands Tied" and "Beat Of a Heart", both peaked at #41 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, on the Cash Box Top 100, "Beat Of a Heart" did make the Top 40 at #40. As did "Hands Tied", which went to #39. So, the question is this; is Scandal a "one-hit wonder"? Technically, no.
