Shadows stimulate our imagination and it's no wonder that people have been using shadows to tell stories for thousands of years. Sometimes a simple shadow cast is enough to spark our imagination. The human mind is masterful at finding meaning and significance in random shapes. In my composition "Schattenspiele/ Shadow Plays" I want to use this ability to create a world full of abstract associations.
