Violinist Shawn Moore performed music by Johan Sebastian Bach, Heinrich Ignace Franz von Biber, and Fritz Kreisler for the BCB students last week.
Shawn is a graduate of the Bard College Conservatory of Music, where he graduated in violin performance and Asian studies. After Bard, he did his masters in music at the Yale School of Music, before becoming a Yale Lite Fellow and moving to Korea for a year to study the language and culture. He is a founding member of the Kalmia String Quartet and as a solo artist makes regular appearances at the Geneva Music Festival and the Bard Music Festival, as well as other engagements throughout the world. He currently lives in Beijing and is a guest professor of violin at the Nanjing Conservatory of the Arts, as well as being the Asia representative of Bard College.
