Sissoko (kora) Segal (cello) Parisien (saxophone) Peirani (accordion) unveil "Izao", taken from their album "Les Égarés". A scent of Armenia clothes the first few measures of ‘Izao’, a piece that slips and slides in the direction of Transylvania via Turkey, seemingly orchestrating a disconcerting marriage of kora and Bartok in certain passages, all underpinned by a throbbing bass.
The two virtuoso duos Sissoko-Segal and Parisien-Peirani share a common desire to cross sounds, transcend genres and to listen to each other play.
