Sol Gabetta & Bertrand Chamayou play the famous “Lied ohne Worte / Song Without Words, Op.109” by Felix Mendelssohn in the KKL Lucerne.

Sol Gabetta plays the “Bonamy Dobrée-Suggia” cello by Antonio Stradivari (1717), on generous loan from the Stradivari Foundation Habisreutinger, Bertrand Chamayou plays a concert grand Fortepiano by Julius Blüthner, Leipzig 1859.

The video is part of their Mendelssohn project. For their third album “Mendelssohn”, Sol Gabetta and Bertrand Chamayou have recorded Mendelssohn's complete works for cello and piano as well as new pieces by renowned contemporary composers, specifically written for this album and inspired by Mendelssohn's famous Lied ohne Worte.
