I start by becoming a fan of the film, then research franchise news, fan theories and updates about the dream film. Then find new clips of the actors and any elements that makes the the franchise known for. Ultimately to create a ‘what if’ trailer using effects, music, AI, and editing software like Wondershare Filmora, Photopea, and more.

Editing Journey:

As a huge fan of the Spider-Man franchise, working on this Brand New Day Fan Trailer was an absolute blast. Editing this piece felt like bringing a dream crossover to life. I was fortunate to have a wealth of fresh material from recent fan films, which gave the project a high-quality, cinematic edge. What made it even more exciting was that some of the actors confirmed to appear—like Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Sadie Sink—had new film releases, providing me with great updated footage to work with. The only major challenge was the lack of new scenes featuring Tom Holland. Luckily, I managed to find a few usable shots from his recent commercials, which helped bring Spider-Man front and center without relying too heavily on older footage.

I begin act one addressing Peter Parker being sad about having no more friends and family to remember him. In epic fashion I made Spider-Man swing in New York city to kick off the trailer. Since the film’s official villain hasn’t been revealed, I leaned into what we do know: the inclusion of The Punisher, The Hulk, and Sadie Sink’s mysterious new character. I focused the trailer around them, making sure each had a presence that added weight to the story. I also played into fan speculation by hinting at the symbiote storyline, teasing a darker side of Spider-Man. Adding that "bad Spider-Man" twist gave the trailer an edge and helped suggest internal conflict without needing a defined external villain. Overall, this project was a mix of creative puzzle-solving and fan-driven passion—exactly the kind of trailer I love putting together.
