Stephane Wrembel came by The Blue Plate Special to showcase tunes from his new release, “The Django Experiment III” (1-23-18). Stephane told us that “The Django Experiment III” is like…”a tribute to the Master, but opening up new possibilities”. The song in this video, “Nuages”, (French for “Clouds”) is from that new album, and is a well-known Django Reinhardt composition. Stephane has been called one of the finest guitar players in the world, and he learned his craft among the Gypsies at campsites in the French countryside. He is widely known for “Bistro Fada”, the theme song from the 2011 Woody Allen Oscar winning film, “Midnight In Paris”. The soundtrack for the film won a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. On stage with Stephane is Thor Jensen-guitar, and Ari Folman-Cohen-bass.
